BOB
Hey guys, i just finished my scribe post and now im BOB-ing. Well, for this unit, i didn't really have much trouble with it, but i guess, my muddiest point would be the words used in personal finance. I understand taxes and all, but sometimes, some names of deductions are unfamiliar to me and I end up using it differently. My strongest point is that after i break it down, i know where all the numbers go on the calculator! I hope that everyone does well on this test! Goodluck!
Periodic Functions
Hey guys this is alvin again with another scribe post!

So what is "Periodic" (Period) really??
--Anything that repeats after a certain/fixed length of time.
Examples
-High tide vs. Low tide
-High tide vs. Low tide
-Heart beat
-Clocks
-Rotation of earth on sun or the Moon on earth
-Rotation of earth on sun or the Moon on earth
...etc.

The inner layer are in degreese while the outer fractions with the Pi are radians.
These sets are the most basic angles.
The ratio!

Dealing with negative numbers are a bit different, but not at all difficult. The negative numbers move clockwise while the positive numbers go counter-clockwise (Degrees). But as show on the diagram below, there are 2 ways of getting into the end point. Be careful on what the question is asking or you might end up using a wrong positive/negative number.

Over all, the class today was pretty blunt and covered alot of the stuff. So far its piece-easy, all you really need is to know the ratio, after that, you have a number of options on how to get your answer.

Hey guys its alvin. right now im studying for the test tomorrow. the only muddiest point i have is the wording, some of you guys probably have the same problem as me. but 1 thing that i found useful is if u actually write the actual words down on ur paper, it begins to make sense. per instance:
1 banana vs 1 apple
re-write 1 banana then below it write 1 apple. then all u have to do is figure it out 1 by 1. my strength pretty much if i get the wording, i can solve it right away- -so pretty much everything is okay, im just worried about the wordings for tomorrow. well goodluck guys!

Vectors Scribe Post
For people that were confused about what the difference is between scalars and vectors, here is the definition:
Scalars are quantities which are fully described by a magnitude (or numerical value) alone.
Vectors are quantities which are fully described by both a magnitude and a direction.

Hey guys this is Alvin. I'm pretty nervous about the unit test, i dont think that im going to do well on it. i actually had a few muddy points, but right now my only concern is the confidence intervals. its still pretty blurry to me, but thanks to the blog, i think ill be alright.
I think that my strongest point is in the shadenorm(), i spent some time with it so it shouldnt give me any hickups.

Wow i woke up late, i have 1 minute to do this. lol, k so this unit was pretty tough, the groups helped a bit but if everyone in ur group doesnt know whats happening too or is giving false information, that pretty much screwed me over. i liked the groups though, half the time it did help me. my muddiest point was when to use nPr and nCr, that pretty much kicks my butt!

Homework Mark
Thanks for the bonus mr. k! i was actually skimming through the slides on a quest to find what makes nPr and nCr different (not just the letters). everything is tender now, ill cya all tomorrow!

Hey guys, goodluck on the unit test tomorrow, we can do it!!
For me specially, i cleared out most of my muddiest points tonight already. All in all, i think that this unit was piece-easy. It took some time for us to get some of the explanation, but in the end we seem to have gotten it through our heads. Study well guys, goodluck to us all!

Feb. 08, 2008 (Friday) Connecting Matrices
Hey guys this is Alvin at your service. Sorry for the late blog, I had to work alot this weekend. But here I am now, tired and ready to go!
The first problem that we were supose to solve was the flightpaths of Atlanta, Boston and Charlotte.
This matrix represents a one hop. Look at the first row first column. The number 1 inticate that there is one route between the city in the row and column for that cell. The 0 indicates that there is no route between the two cities.

Tip!
Feb. 08, 2008 (Friday)
Mr. K gave us a work sheet about Connectivity Matrices. With this worksheet, we used all the things that we already knew about Matricies, and thus excercising and expanding our knowledge towards it. I will show you how to tackle Connecting Matrices by using some of the questions from the worksheet.
The first problem that we were supose to solve was the flightpaths of Atlanta, Boston and Charlotte. The 3 points are all linked together except for Atlanta and Charlotte. They have no direct flights to eachother. If one wants to go from Atlanta to Charlotte, they will have to go through Boston.
With this, we were assigned to create a matrix that represents the routes between the cities.
The Bunny Hop concept
Before we go any further, we need to understand the "hops". One hop route means that it is a 1 stop flight from 1 city to another. Like for instance a direct flight from Atlanta to Boston or Charlotte to Boston. A two hop
route means that there will be 2 stops in the flight. For example, From Atlanta to Charlotte, you will have to stop in Boston before getting to Charlotte. Or from Charlotte, if you want to go to Atlanta, you will have to stop to Boston before getting there.
One Hop Route!
This matrix represents a one hop. Look at the first row first column. The number 1 inticate that there is one route between the city in the row and column for that cell. The 0 indicates that there is no route between the two cities. Two Hop Route!

Tip!
An easy way to figure out the two hop matrix if you have the one hop matrix. You basically just multiply the one hop matrix with the one hop matrix and you will aquire the two hop matrix.
Three Hop Route!
Tip!
You can also get the three hop matrix by mutliplying three one hop matricies.
Closing
I hope that this is helpful to you guys. Sorry if there are any spelling mistakes or any kind of confusion. Contact me via comments and I will correct some errors that you might see on my post. If you still need help about this topic feel free to ask me and I will try my best to help you out.
